Peter Hewitt, founder of Tea Forte, recently discovered what he considered a dearth in the food gift category. "There were not many tea products suitable for gift giving," he says. After three years of product development and design, Hewitt launched Tea Forte's Spirited Teas in Silken Infusers in October 2003. Each silken infuser is filled with fresh whole-leaf teas sourced directly from the tea gardens of China. The innovative triangular stand-up design of the tea bags makes for a graceful presentation as well as a superior cup of tea. Each patented silk tea infuser is topped with a uniquely designed hand wrapped wire and 'leaf' which adds tone and beauty to the table while functioning as a handle. Unlike typical paper tea bags, the woven silk infusers allow hot water to flow through easily, which causes the tea leaves to unfurl and swim around as they steep. The flowers inside the stand-up infuser actually bloom after brewing and enhance the visual experience.
